In my city, we have a homeless ministry called Feed My Sheep. True to its name, it's a place that feeds people - but then does so much more. Feed My Sheep has a Resource Center which can help with everything from paying rent to getting an ID, education programs, addiction recovery programs, Bible studies, and men's and women's centers where people can go for laundry, showers, and a bit of respite from being on the street. I am just really amazed by the organization we've chosen for our September donation recipient, and I am so honored to tell you about them. I just finished reading a book called Half the Sky which focuses on many issues that women around the globe face. I'll share more about that later but one of those issues is trafficking - when people are taken and forced to do something (often sexual) against their will. We tend to think of trafficking as something that happens in far off places, but we're slowly learning that it is an issue right here at home. The organization we're donating to...
