June's Donation Recipient: The Well at Feed My Sheep

In my city, we have a homeless ministry called Feed My Sheep. True to its name, it's a place that feeds people - but then does so much more. Feed My Sheep has a Resource Center which can help with everything from paying rent to getting an ID, education programs, addiction recovery programs, Bible studies, and men's and women's centers where people can go for laundry, showers, and a bit of respite from being on the street. Book Report: Half the Sky

“Even when a social problem is so vast as to be insoluble in its entirety, it’s still worth mitigating. We may not succeed in educating ALL the girls in poor countries, or in preventing ALL women from dying in childbirth, or in saving ALL the girls who are imprisoned in brothels.” But it can make a big difference to one person who was helped.

September Donation - The Retreat Home for Children

I am just really amazed by the organization we've chosen for our September donation recipient, and I am so honored to tell you about them. I just finished reading a book called Half the Sky which focuses on many issues that women around the globe face. I'll share more about that later but one of those issues is trafficking - when people are taken and forced to do something (often sexual) against their will.
